Region 5Wally Byam Caravan Club International, Inc.Board of Directors MeetingSeptember 20, 2009Brandenburg, KY.Region President Bob Moyers called the meeting to order at 11:00 AM. Rev. Motion Carried.Treasurer Ron Gordy read a full financial report and explained Region 5 has a totalequity of $7943.35. A copy of the complete financial report is attached to the Secretary’sminutes.Correspondence:There was no correspondence.Membership:Membership Chairman Bob Gregory, 2nd Vice president, thanked all the officers goingout and all the incoming officers for their functions and urged all to continue to be mindful of theunit membership recruitment. He reported the region loss rate was cut by 50% this past yearcompared to 2007. The membership is 334 members as of June 30, 2009. He urged allmembers to keep thinking “Membership Recruiting”. A copy of the written report is attached toSecretary’s minutes.Caravans:First Vice President Louise Humble reported that every unit is Region 5 sponsored acaravan of some sort this year. All of the caravan leaders were recognized at the caravanrecognition luncheon held at the fairgrounds. She encouraged all members to participate in thecaravan program. A copy of the written report is attached to the Secretary’s minutes.Legislation:Chairman Clarence Jones had no report.Community Services:Chairman Carol White selected the Meade County Clothes Closet and Food Pantry toreceive our 2009 donations. This agency is sponsored by the Meade County MinisterialAlliance. This year a total of 354 items were donated and $45 in cash. Carol thankedeveryone who contributed. A special contribution of $164 was given to a young man injuredin an auto accident. A copy of the written report is attached to the Secretary’s minutes.Contributing Editor:Nancy Green reported that Region 5 had an article in every issue of the Blue Beretduring the past year. Information about Region and Computer Rally appeared in the Februaryissue of the Blue Beret. All members can stay informed by reading the Blue Beret. A copy ofher written report is attached to the Secretary’s minutes.Webmaster:Larry Spaulding was absent. No report was given.Newsletter Editor:Chairman Bill Schrader reported that the Region 5 Newsletter was published six (6)times, October, December, February, May, August and September. Each 4-page issue wentto 138 people including 28 copies to WBCCI Members at Large living in Indiana, Kentucky andIllinois. Total cost $217.31. Bill asks for Board approval to continue mailing the Newsletters toMembers at Large in all three states for one more year. A complete copy of his report isattached to the Secretary’s minutes.Bob Gregory made a Motion to mail the Newsletter to all the MAL’s in Region 5 for onemore year. Louise Humble seconded the Motion.Motion Carried.Region 5 2010-2011 Rally Report:First Vice President Louise Humble announced the Sparta, IL site 2010 becameunacceptable so she has chosen DuQuoin, IL. State Fairgrounds for the site of theSeptember 15 – 19, 2010 Region 5 Rally. A new air-conditioned building and lovely campingfacilities is only 200 feet from the building. The 2011 Region 5 Rally will be in Danville, IN.west of Indianapolis, IN.Medical Report:Chairman Shala Wilson reported she, Barbara Schrader and Jackie Thackery did bloodpressure checks, 20 normal and 10 abnormally high. One member requested medical adviceand was advised to visit the local hospital. The member was checked and released to comeback to the rally. President Moyers thanked Shala and her medical team for their services.Old Business:No old business to report.New Business:The Nominating Committee Chairman Dick Heyde, with members Ida Mae Hershbergerand Larry Abrams, announced the slate of officers for 2010-2011.They are as follows:President Louise Humble1st Vice President Bob Gregory2nd Vice President Barry BellAnnouncements:Unit Presidents introduced their spouses and their unit officers.
President Moyers introduced his wife, Lee, saying she is the one responsible for thisvery successful Region Rally. He announced that the chart shows 68 RV’s on site, he knowswe had 70 at one point. President Moyers advised all New Officer and Activity Reporting formsare due November 1, 2009 at WBCCI Headquarters with copies to Region 5 President, firstand Second Vice Presidents. The Region 5 dinner at the Sarasota Rally will be Thursday,February 18, 2010 at 5:00 PM at the Sarasota Methodist Church. President Moyers calledattention to all units to be mindful of the dates for the next two region rallies. They are atDuQuoin, IL Fairgrounds, September 15 – 19, 2010 and Danville, IN., September 14 -18, 2011.Please keep these dates in mind when scheduling unit rallies.The meeting was adjourned at 12:22 PMRespectfully Submitted,Barbara BergenRegion 5, Recording Secretary
