Region 5

      Rollin’ on the River will be a fun and exciting Region 5 Rally Sept. 10-14, 2008, at the Meade County Fairgrounds in Brandenburg, Kentucky.
      Brandenburg is located 22 miles south of Corydon, Indiana, just across the river.
      This will be the first Region 5 Rally to be held at this location which offers 20 amp electric at all sites and is used by Good Sam for two of its region rallies during the year. All sites are within walking distance of the air-conditioned building. It will have one half set up with the stage and chairs and the other half with tables and chairs for the meals.
      Rollin’ on the River entertainment will include the Kentucky Men’s Chorus, a barbership group; Bluegrass 101, a five-member blue grass band; and a Madrigal group from an area high school that has performed at the White House, among other places.
      A special tour has been scheduled for Corydon, the first Indiana State Capitol and famous for its unique shops, antique malls and interesting restaurants. The planned day tour will include lunch at one of the restaurants.
      Other tour destinations in the Brandenburg area include: The Coca-Cola Museum and Swope Cars of Yesterday Museum in Elizabethtown, Ky., 33 miles away; the Patton Museum of Cavalry and Armor at Fort Knox, Ky., 20 miles away; and the Horseshoe Casino near Elizabeth, Ind., 27 miles away.
      Other Rally highlights will include:
      —Three breakfasts on Thursday, Friday and Saturday mornings;
      —A catered banquet Saturday evening;
      —Seminars on Friday;
      —Unit Officers Workshop Wednesday;
     —Early workers dinner Tuesday;
      —Swap and Sell Saturday morning;
      —Region 5 business meeting Saturday afternoon.
